The Survival Code return with urgent and incisive cut ‘Along The Way’

The Survival Code have unveiled their second single, lifted from forthcoming album ‘Hopelessness of People‘.

Along The Way‘ hears the purveyors of pop-rock swap their stock-in-trade for an altogether heavier sound. Gone is the pogo stick-bounce of previous single ‘Not Working‘, monstrous riffs and a breakneck pace imbue the cut with a sense of urgency that was previously unheard. It’s a feeling that seems to have taken affect elsewhere in the song, as well. Front man Gary McGuiness is at his most emphatic with vocals that careen from seething to explosive in the blink of the eye. It’s an incisive, robust offering that’ll no doubt catapult the band from support slots to headlines tours.

The Survival Code will be airing ‘Along The Way’ for the first time at this year’s Camden Rocks presents.

The show will take place tonight at The Monarch in Camden Town, alongside extraterrestrial punk-rockers Screech Bats, for their ‘Wish You Were Her’ EP Release Show.

Joining them will be The Menstrual Cramps, Kid Kapichi and Bloodlines.

Since the continued success of Camden Rocks Festival, the organizers are running a string of ‘presents’ shows to give you some of the best new alternative, indie, rock & metal music about and serve as a warm-up to the big one-dayer.

Doors will open at 6:45pm. Tickers are available here.

Camden Rocks festival will take place on June 2, with over two hundred bands performing in venues all along Camden’s high street. Among the 90 acts that have been announced is Maximo Park, Pil, Twin Atlantic, Hacktivist and Mallory Knox.
